Ladies 1s vs WBT 3

The ladies came back from last week with fire in their bellies and a determination to get the win — and they did just that! A strong warm-up and uplifting team talk set the tone for what was to come.

From the first whistle, Stockton applied pressure and created several early chances. The breakthrough finally came when Jess picked up the ball, drove forward, and fired home her first goal for Stockton — a brilliant moment for her and the team!

Despite Stockton’s dominance, WBT hit back after earning a short corner. The initial shot was saved, but with high numbers in the D, they managed to slip one past the defence. Charlie was unlucky on the post, colliding with it as she tried to clear the ball — 1–1.

Undeterred, Stockton kept up the intensity and continued to move the ball well. Just two minutes before half-time, a superb team effort saw Rachel slot home to make it 2–1 going into the break.

After an encouraging team talk, Stockton came out firing again in the second half. They earned several short corners and had plenty of opportunities, but couldn’t quite convert. In the final 10 minutes, the team lost a bit of structure and began to panic as WBT pushed for an equaliser. However, Stockton held firm, showing grit and determination to keep them at bay until the final whistle.

A well-earned victory and a fantastic team performance all round!

Girl of the Game: Lottie – for her fantastic runs and all-round play.

Wally of the Week: Lana (again!) – for managing to run into a goal on the side of the pitch!

A huge thank you as always to our sponsors, coaches, umpires, and amazing supporters on the sidelines.
